Yay!!!

I've done it! Finally, probably with complete disregard for sanity, I ordered the Sportsman tail kit on Thurs, 07 Apr 2005!

It will be shipped sometime after 21 Apr 2005. Glasair Aviation is waiting for some parts to complete the whole kit, and then they will ship it.

1422 days from starting this airplane project (3 years, 10 months, 22 days), I closed Book One (of two) on Sunday evening and put it back on the bench. In that time span we had two household moves, with the last one being over 800 miles and caused about a 9 month hiatus from the project. Figuring in other delays, I believe I have about two and a half years of calendar time into the project. I haven't yet figured the actual labor hours.

I now have an answer as to how much my time is worth. 2.5 years = $13,000, which was roughly the cost of the quickbuild options for the wings and tail when I bought my kit (Book one is building the wing and tail parts).

Knowing what I know now, I would not have hesitated one second to buy the quickbuild options... :-)

I now have rudder pedals and a flap handle installed in the fuselage, so at least I have something to move when I sit in it and make Vroom-Vroom noises!
