Wing pivot installation. Fabricate fuselage attach fittings.

Aft shell attach fittings.
08 Sep 2008 - 1.25 hrs
Mark angle fittings. Center punch holes (end step 9, start 10)
10 Sep 2008 - 1.5 hrs
End step 10. Forward shell attach fittings.
11 Sep 2008 - 2 hrs
Start attaching angle fittings to fuselage. Need to wait for warmer weather before I can do the actual fiberglass/Qcell part of the process.

Mark fuselage waterline. Level fuselage. Align vertical stabilizer. Attach bottom rudder hinge.
15 Sep 2008 - 1 hr
Put rudder hinge on vertical spar.
16 Sep 2008 - 2.5 hrs
Sand vertical fin. Trim vertical fin stabilizer. Test fit rudder.
20 Sep 2008 - 7.5 hrs
Drill vertical fin. Prime vertical spar. Countersink vertical fin. Rivet rudder and vertical spar.
21 Sep 2008 - 3.5 hrs
Fit rudder (trim fiberglass around rudder).
23 Sep 2008 - 2 hrs
Fabricate rudder stops.

Start rudder stop plate adjustment.

Drill attach fitting holes on each side of fuselage for door handle.

Press fit bushing.

Prime attach shell fittings, and tuck them in their Q-cell beds.
13 May 2009 - 8.5 hrs
Drill and countersink attach fitting holes in fiberglass. Add screws. End of step 28.
14 May 2009 - 2.5 hrs
Start installing forward attach shell fittings. Step 29. Sand fuselage down to allow for proper bonding of the epoxy resin for the forward attach shell fittings.

Fiberglass forward attach fittings to fuselage.
12 Jul 2009 - 1.25 hrs
Finish forward attach shell fittings (trim excess fiberglass, prime).
18 Jul 2009 - 3 hrs
Start vertical fin rib.
19 Jul 2009 - 1 hr
Bond vertical fin rib into top of vertical fin.
21 Jul 2009 - 1.5 hrs
Shave trailing edge of vertical fin.
22 Jul 2009 - 1.5 hrs
Adjust rudder stop plate for 25 degree travel.
25 Jul 2009 - 1.75 hrs
Finish +- 25 degree rudder travel. Prime rudder stop. Cut inspection hole in bottom of fuselage.
27 Jul 2009 - 2.5 hrs
Rivet rudder stop to rudder control horn. Start mounting elevator bell crank.
28 Jul 2009 - 1 hr
Drill elevator bell crank. Prime.
29 Jul 2009 - 1.5 hrs
Fabricate elevator control stop. Rivet elevator bellcrank.
30 Jul 2009 - 1.25 hrs
Drill elevator control stop. Continue mounting elevator bellcrank.
01 Aug 2009 - 5 hrs
Drill horizontal stabilizer attach bracket in bulkhead D. Fabricate shearweb forward attach angles.
02 Aug 2009 - 1 hr
Start shearweb.
30 Apr 2010 - 1.75 hrs
Mount forward shearweb attach angles, make template or shearweb.
01 May 2010 - 2 hrs
Fabricate rear attach angle for forward shearweb out of fiberglass.
02 May 2010 - 4 hrs
Start fabricating forward shearweb. Break bandsaw. Fix broken bandsaw. Continue fabricating forward shearweb.
03 May 2010 - 2 hrs
Still fabricating forward shearweb.
05 May 2010 - 0.5 hrs
Gather parts to mount forward shearweb.
07 May 2010 - 3 hrs
Make shearweb template from fiberglass to form shearweb side attach angles. Misdrill forward shearweb. Give up on forward shearweb. Start fitting horizontal stablizer. Make Subaru engine run video.
09 May 2010 - 1.75 hrs
Fit horizontal stabilizer to fuselage, Step 83.
16 May 2010 - 1 hr
Fabricate forward shearweb side attach fittings using the fiberglass template.
22 May 2010 - 3.5 hrs
Start upper shell attach fittings. Make Qcell bed for upper shell attach fittings.
23 May 2010 - 3 hrs
Drill #10 holes for upper shell attach fittings. Finish upper shell attach fittings. Sand and share side attach fittings for the forward shearweb.
29 May 2010 - 2.25 hrs
Start to align horizontal stabilizer. Recheck waterline, and realize waterline is off by 1/4 of an inch. Cry for help to the Glastar list and Glasair Aviation.
17 Jul 2010 - 2 hrs
Add Qcell and top reinforcement for forward shearweb supports. Prime forward shearweb support brackets.
04 Sep 2010 - 5 hrs
Re-do horizontal attach bracket, remount it. Mount horiz stab, drill aft attach holes.
06 Sep 2010 - 6 hrs
Put nutplates in Bulkhead E. Start fabricating the aft shearweb attach flanges. Make new forward shearweb.
18 Sep 2010 - 2 hrs
Finish fiberglass work on aft shearweb attach angles
19 Sep 2010 - 2.5 hrs
Sand aft shearweb attach angles. Fabricate aft shearweb.
26 Sep 2010 - 3.5 hrs
Install nutplates in forward shearweb, and prime it.
02 Oct 2010 - 4 hrs
Install nutplates in aft shearweb angles, prime aft shearweb. Install nutplates on forward end of forward shearweb. Install nutplates on fwd shearweb support angles.
FINISH FUSELAGE SECTION!!!
